The project consisted of the upgrading and refurbishing of SPS fabrication yard. The main contractor was Mc Dermott Caspian Contractors, Inc. TML-Borova was the main subcontractor for heavy civil works and miscellaneous works including civil, mechanical, electrical site works.
Scope of Work
The construction of New skid-ways, Jacking points, Casting of Skid-way blocks. Earthquake load supports, pile support load-in concrete slab, upgrade rail track .
Refurbish assembly area / Quay wall includes removal of existing surface, sand blasting replace rebar / dowel bars, protective coating and reposition / refurbish existing bollards.
Increase loading capacity of quay wall includes bored in situ piles, cut off and prepare pile heads and cast the reinforced concrete top slab, excavation / compaction / waterproofing & back fill.
Clear area for all scrub, debris, and the like. Excavation to formation level, compact grade, back fill sub-base / road base quality material, dispose of soft and surplus material and provide and install kerbs around refurbished area.
Major Heavy Civil Work Items;
- Bored in-situ piles, 1200 mm diameter, 43 m. long (ave.), 120 nos,
- Bored in-situ piles, 1500 mm diameter, 42 m. long (ave.), 16 nos,
- 15,500 cub.m. of Reinforced Concrete with 3,000 tons of reinforcement,
- 30,000 cub.m. of earth works,
- 45,000 cub.m. of filling works.
Miscellaneous Civil site works;
- Access asphalt roads (5,000 sq.m.), security fencing and gates, refurbishment of floors of buildings and girder shop,
- Excavation / Trenching works for water / gas distribution systems, electrical cabling, sewage system,
- Design, supply, install and commission sewage treatment plant.
Mechanical works;
- Supply and install new water and gas lines service center manifold including purging, cleaning, chemical treatment and testing,
- Design, supply, install, commission water and sewage treatment package units, including water distribution system.
Electrical works;
- Install New multi distribution panel for external power, high mast with flood lights, SMDB's,
- Supply and install feeder pillers for external lighting, complete earthing system for buildings and girder shop and for all welding / mechanical equipments, high mast street lights etc.,
- Residual design / detail engineering and procurement of project materials.
