The project comprised of the construction of 287 m long highway bridge with a main span 135 m across the Euphrates river between Malatya and Elazig involving the balanced cantilever substructure in reinforced concrete on two main piers in the bed and two abudments. The deck of the two lane highway consisted of prestressed concrete box girders in span lengths 2 x 76 m and 2 x 67.5 m.
