The project consisted of the construction of a 1.090 m main span suspension bridge with between two towers and a 219 Km long tollroad with 29 viaducts, 106 overpasses, 104 underpasses and two tunnels.
The project consisted of four lots:
63 km long Kinali-Mahmutbey sector (2x2 and 2x3 lanes) - A total of 14,680,000 cub.m. of excavation, 378,000 cub.m of concrete, 755,000 cub.m of mechanical stabilized sub-base and 413,000 cub.m of cement stabilised base and 995,000 tonnes of asphaltic concrete binder course was handled.
38 km long Mahmutbey-Çamlica sector (2x4 lanes) - including the Second Bosphorus Bridge. A total of 23,287,600 cub.m excavation, 695,424 cub.m of concrete, 1,187,990 cub.m of mechanical stabilized sub-base, 539,986 cub.m of cement stabilised base and 1,431,870 tonnes of asphalt was handled. The Second Bosphorus Bridge is a 1,510 m long suspension bridge with a free span of 1,090 m and a deck width of 39 m, built at 64 m from the sea level. The tower height is 105 m. from road level. 13,600 tonnes steel was used for the suspension system and 15,960 tonnes for the towers and the decks. A total of 131,000 cub.m of concrete was used for the foundations and anchorages.
45 km long Çamlica-Gebze sector (2x3 lanes) - A total of 6,911,500 cu.m excavation, 230,844 cub.m of concrete, 484,000 cub.m of mechanical stabilised sub-base, 380,000 cub.m of cement stabilized base, and 966,500 tonnes of asphaltic concrete binder course was handled.
Izmit Peripheral Road and 73 km long Kazanci Highway ( 2x3 and 2x2 lanes) - A total of 17,070,300 cub.m of excavation, 550,326 cub.m of concrete, 714,154 cub.m of mechanical stabilised sub-base, 373,451 cub.m of cement stabilized base and asphalt 947,906 tonnes was handled.
