Project included the construction of a total length of 9,438 meter two and three lane vehicular tunnels, pedestrian tunnels, toilet and access tunnels facilitating flow of vehicular and pedesterian traffic in and around the Holy areas during Hadj (pilgrimage) Season in Makkah. The tunnels were of semi circular shape or semi circular horse shoe shape with inner diameters ranging from 12.5 m to 17.7 m. The projects involved the installation of illumination, ventilation, fire alarm and fire fighting systems.
